He had no background in technology — just strong curiosity and a feeling that this question could be worth money to every business on his street.

Bilal's computer skills were basic, and he assumed SEO was something only big-city agencies did. He joined SEO Mastery mainly to satisfy his curiosity, studying in the evenings after the shop closed.
The course broke SEO into plain steps: how search works, what keywords really are, and why a Google Business Profile matters more than a fancy website for a local shop. Bilal practised each lesson on a demo site the same night he learned it.
His turning point was the local SEO module. For his graded assignments he optimised practice listings end to end — categories, photos, hours, reviews — and learned to audit a business's presence the way a customer experiences it: by searching.
He offered to fix the Google presence of two businesses near his shop, free, in exchange for permission to show the work. Within weeks both were appearing properly on Maps and search, with correct hours and photos — and both owners started telling neighbouring shops who had done it.
Bilal is now the person local businesses in his area call when customers "cannot find them on Google". He still works days at the shop, but his evenings belong to a skill that grows more valuable every month — and he is training his younger cousin in the same basics.
