How Ayesha got there

Ayesha had been out of the workforce for several years, raising her children at home in Multan. She had always had a good eye for colour — family asked her opinion on everything from curtains to wedding cards — but she had no formal training, no portfolio, and no idea how design could become an income that fitted around her family's hours.

“I did not need a job that took me away from my children. I needed a skill that could come home to me.”
— Ayesha Siddiqui
1

Starting point

Before MA, Ayesha's design experience was limited to editing family photos on her phone. She worried she was "too late" to start, and that professional software would be too difficult to learn at her stage of life.

2

Joined MA Digital Network

She enrolled in Graphic Design Essentials after speaking to an advisor about her schedule. The recorded lessons let her study after the children slept, and the live sessions gave her a place to ask questions she felt were too basic to ask anywhere else.

3

Learning and practice

The course moved from layout and typography basics into full practice briefs. Ayesha's favourite assignments were the mock boutique briefs — designing a logo, price tags and a social media kit for an imaginary clothing brand. Her mentor reviewed every piece personally and pushed her on the details that separate amateur work from client work.

4

First results

For her final project she built a complete mini brand kit, which became her portfolio. A relative who runs a small clothing boutique saw the work and asked her to design the boutique's sale banners — her first paying client, earned entirely from home.

5

Where she is today

Ayesha now designs regularly for a small circle of local boutiques, working the hours she chooses. The skill she almost talked herself out of learning has become a practice she is quietly proud of — and it started with one course taken after bedtime.
